| | HH News: Free Agents File Thursday, November 2nd, 1922: Hardball Heroes announced the start of the free agency period today.
Players with expiring contracts began to file as the clock struck midnight and general managers were already making the rounds. With the opening of free agency came a predictable chorus of speculation from the media.
While most teams are likely to make at least some small moves, it's still uncertain who the movers and shakers will be. Reporters expect a lot of attention to be lavished on the cream of the free agent crop, including these players:
1. Ray Keating, 28 year-old starting pitcher 2. Baby Doll Jacobson, 31 year-old center fielder 3. Al Schulz, 32 year-old starting pitcher 4. Joe Wood, 32 year-old right fielder 5. Allen Russell, 28 year-old starting pitcher 6. Jim Scott, 33 year-old starting pitcher 7. Elmer Myers, 27 year-old starting pitcher 8. Steve Evans, 36 year-old right fielder 9. Erv Lange, 34 year-old starting pitcher 10. Max Fiske, 33 year-old starting pitcher
Signings can continue throughout the off-season, although most of the high quality players are expected to conclude negotiations long before then. Most players want to be well paid, but they also want to get settled so they can start the process of moving family across town or across the country. | | HH News: Draft Pool Revealed Wednesday, November 1st, 1922: The deadline has passed for players to declare for the first-year player draft.
