The 26-year-old center fielder put up a .327 average and a .408 on-base percentage, piling up 151 hits, 23 doubles, 14 triples, 16 home runs, 98 RBIs and 84 runs scored. |  | 1922 SL Best Batter, Detroit's Haas Monday, September 11th, 1922: 1922 was a very good year for Detroit Tigers center fielder Mule Haas, this year's Southern League Double A Batter of the Year recipient.
Haas had an impressive season, hitting .317 with a .391 on-base percentage. He totaled 140 hits, 27 doubles, 16 triples, 9 home runs, 61 RBIs and scored 83 runs. |  | Top Pitcher Award Announced by EL Sunday, September 10th, 1922: The Hartford clubhouse staff referred to him as "the kid" this season. Next year Johnny Niggeling will have to have a new nickname. He earned it after winning the 1922 Eastern League Double A Pitcher of the Year.
Niggeling made 30 starts this year, winning 15 and losing 12. He threw 284.1 innings, fanned 73, allowed 270 hits and 86 walks, while holding opposing teams to a .251 average as he logged an impressive 2.15 ERA. | |
